Martyn Hett is a 28-year-old from Manchester, England, who is about to send you on an emotional rollercoaster thanks in part to him mom’s knitting hobby.
It started a couple weeks ago when, like a good son, he checked in with his mom to see how her day was going.
She came back to me saying that she was feeling a bit sad because nobody was buying her stuff, he said.
All her hard work was basically going down the crapper,so Martyn decided to share his heartbreak on Twitter.
Not long after Martyn tweeted the picture of his moms stall, a friend bought a glove monster from her Depop page.
One purchase turned into three.
And wouldn’t you know it, three purchases turned into nine.
And because sometimesTwitter can be awesome, word quickly spread and left Martyns mom, Figen, with a lot of work to do to keep up with demands and for an awesome reason.
She sews/knits for therapeutic reasons, said Martyn. Shes a counselor and she believes that being creative is good for the soul its advice she often gives to her clients. Since it went viral, shes decided to donate money from her earnings to a local charity, Beacon Counseling.
